After hours of deliberating over the perfect presents for the kids, it was one simple Yankee Swap gift that, hands down, was the highlight of my kids' holiday.
Well, it wasn't exactly a simple Yankee Swamp gift, because really...who wraps up live animals in a pretty holiday bag and coaxes other people's kids into choosing it?
Well, I would otherwise slander this gift-givers good name and reveal her identity, but it might risk cutting my blog readership in half. Although I will admit, I am considering sending her boys a Bengal tiger for Valentine's Day.
But back to Christmas....we are now the proud owners of two very strange looking miniature frogs. And according to our kids, "Speedy" and "X" are the best Christmas presents ever.
As far as I'm concerned, the best gift this season was getting to see so many of our friends and family over the past week. We hit the holiday party circuit hard, and although we've reached a state of exhaustion, it was well worth it.
Happy Holidays!
....did you just hear that?
That blood curdling scream heard around the world?
That's was me.
As I sat down to write this post about our perfect family Sunday in our little winter wonderland, I received a text message that school is cancelled tomorrow.
DAMN YOU, SCHOOL DEPT!
Damn you in your little quest to keep our kids safe & sound at home on Monday. Don't you know how much I have to do? Gifts to wrap? Trimming to trim? Eggs to nog? Hey I have an idea, how 'bout I send my cherubs over to your house? DAMN YOU!
